At CurioCity we take your privacy very seriously. This policy describes how we collect, use and protect your personal data, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable legislation.

Data Controller

The data controller is Álvaro Ezequiel Skorepa. For any privacy inquiries, you can contact me through the contact form on the site.

Data We Collect

  • Browsing data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited and time spent
  • Newsletter subscription data: email and name (only if you voluntarily subscribe)
  • Comment data: public name and comment content (no email required)
  • Contact form data: name, email, subject and message
  • Technical and functional cookies for proper site operation
  • Preference data: language, visual theme (light/dark/elegant), dyslexic mode
  • Anonymous interaction events: scroll, widget clicks, theme/language switches and reading time (via PostHog, without user identification)
  • Session identifier: unique browser-generated ID to deduplicate article reactions (removed when tab is closed)

Purpose of Processing

  • Manage your newsletter subscription and send relevant content
  • Publish and manage comments on articles
  • Improve browsing experience and personalize the interface
  • Analyze website traffic anonymously (via Plausible Analytics)
  • Answer your inquiries sent through the contact form

Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectify, delete and port your data, as well as to limit or object to its processing. You can exercise these rights at any time by contacting us through the contact form. You also have the right to file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Retention Period

We keep your personal data while you maintain your active subscription or for the time necessary to comply with legal obligations. Anonymous browsing data is kept in aggregate form without time limit.

External Services and APIs

CurioCity uses the following APIs and external services: NASA APOD (daily astronomy image), Google Gemini (automatic translation), Resend (newsletter email delivery), Supabase (database), Wikimedia and Unsplash (article images), Plausible Analytics (anonymous analytics) and PostHog (interaction events). These platforms may process data according to their own privacy policies.

Radio and Multimedia Content

The radio stations available on the site are public, copyright-free streams. The player does not collect personal user data.
