Images come from various sources: free content platforms such as Unsplash and Wikimedia Commons, AI-generated images (Leonardo AI, ChatGPT), and public APIs such as NASA APOD (public domain according to NASA policy). Article covers may combine stock photography and original editing.
APIs and External Services
This site draws from several public APIs and third-party services: NASA API (api.nasa.gov) for the Astronomy Picture of the Day, Google News RSS for news, Gutendex (gutendex.com) and OpenLibrary for the daily book, Wikimedia API for images and on-this-day events, Wordnik for the word of the day, PostHog for interaction event analytics, and Plausible Analytics for anonymous traffic analytics. Each service operates under its own terms of use. Ambient radio stations are integrated from open sources such as SomaFM and 1.FM.
